Good Behavior from the Beginning

Good Behavior from the Beginning

Parents want their children to exhibit good behavior from the beginning. This is, done when the child is, taught early on in the toddler stages and then the teaching continues as the child grows. Good behavior from the beginning can be the difference between a well-behaved child and a child who has some behavior problems.

Parents who teach good behavior from the beginning, when their child begins to learn yes and no; can expect a child that will know the difference between yes and no. The child learns yes means that he or she is, allowed to play with toys; but no means the kitchen area means danger and they cannot go there. This parent is setting an example of good behavior from the beginning. Yes is a form of a positive word and no is a negative word. When the child hears these words, he or she can determine if their behavior is good or bad.

A parent who does not teach the proper meanings of yes and no at an early age is not reinforcing good behavior from the beginning. If the parents simply let the child learn on his or her own then the child can become confused. One example of this is such a case as the parent tells the child no if the child does something wrong; but does not tell the child why it is wrong. Furthermore, if the parent tells the child yes but the child does not does not know what the yes means either. This is confusing to the child and the child has to try to determine the difference on his or her own as to the meaning of the two words.

Good behavior from the beginning must be, established if you as the parent expect your child to behave properly at all times. If good behavior from the beginning is not established then you can expect to have behavior problems develop in your child behavior. Teaching right and wrong or yes and no are the fist things your child should learn. Then your teaching of right and wrong will continue from there. As your child grows, he or she will look to you for guidance when they are unsure what they should do about something in their lives.

Even small decisions the child has to face often times they will come to you if you are a good parent and role model. If you have done your best with the child to try to teach, the child as well as you possibly can. Your child will learn good behavior from the beginning and always come to you for your advice in their lives.
